Phil Roberts

Chief Executive Officer 

As CEO of Valo Networks, Phil brings breadth of knowledge and passion to the team with extensive experience in business, technology and governance matters across the technology, energy and global telecommunication industries.

Passionate about technology disruption and economic development, Phil sits on the Board of several profit and non-profit companies. Phil has led senior level positions in the energy, telecommunications and software industries and has contributed to several regional and international initiatives in North America and Europe.  

An active volunteer, Phil is involved with numerous Civic and economic development organizations, is the immediate past Chair of the Calgary Chamber of Commerce and was appointed Honorary Consul to Sri Lanka in Alberta and sits on the Board of InterGen Growth Fund, a fund focused on cross-industry scale-up technology companies.  His work has focused on strategy and growth, regulatory matters, community engagement, corporate governance and government relations.

Phil holds a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Calgary, as well as an MBA in Digital Technologies Management from Royal Roads University.

Andrew Carroll

Chief Operating Officer 

Andrew is a Professional Engineer with extensive business management experience in the areas of Operations Management, Strategic Planning, Corporate Services and Mergers & Acquisitions. He started his career as a Production Engineer in the oil sands operations in Western Canada. He then moved on to more senior management positions in several fuel delivery, industrial service and manufacturing businesses. He has broad experience managing Corporate Services groups including engineering and quality control, fleet & transportation, procurement and warehousing and project management. In addition, he has managed numerous acquisitions and divestiture transactions over his career. His most recent executive roles were leading the Operations teams at a micro-nanotechnology product development company and a high tech start-up company.

Andrew has a Bachelor’s of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Calgary and an MBA from the Richard Ivey School at the University of Western Ontario

Mike Stelck

Chief Commercial Officer 

Mike is a leader with a proven track record in technology and telecommunications. He has overseen the rollout of three Fiber to the Premise (FTTP) deployments in communities across Southern Alberta. He has executed a province-wide marketing plan for communities, helping them to compete for a network build based on reaching 30% pre-order rate from residents.
